Zoe Ball receives emergency care after BBC radio host rushed to get medical help

Zoe Ball has updated fans as she detailed an "emergency rescue" last night. The 53-year-old BBC presenter shared that she had lost a tooth on her Instagram stories and rushed to a dental professional to have her smile fixed.

The radio DJ posted a picture of a character with a tooth missing as she captioned it: "About last night... Me... Oops." She added an arrow to the picture pointing to the gappy smile.

In a second snap, Zoe shared another picture of Wayne's World's star Garth Algar (played by Dana Carvey) with a full smile and his signature blonde hair, as she wrote: "Me... now." The TV star added: "Thanks to Maddy at Dentalessence Burgess Hill for the emergency rescue."

Zoe recently took a break from her BBC Radio 2 show following the death of her mum, Julia Peckham, in April. She died just 12 weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

At the time of the devastating diagnosis, Zoe took time off to help care for her parent, with Gaby Roslin covering her breakfast show slot in her absence.

At the time, she gave an update on Julia's health as she said: "Sadly, heartbreakingly, her cancer is quite advanced but we're making loads of lovely memories and taking care of her. She has some amazing people around her."

The former It Takes Two host also spoke of her "newfound admiration for all carers", while joking about the amount of housework she's been doing. She also said: "My brother Jamie & I are completely in awe of the brilliant Doctors, Nurses & support teams looking after Mum.

"I'm trying to be at work on breakfast as often as I can but occasionally need to be home with my Mama."

After revealing that her mother had been moved to hospice care just a week before her death, Zoe later announced the death of her "dear Mama" in the early hours of April 24.

Sharing a picture of her late mum on Instagram, Zoe wrote: "Thank you for teaching us how to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how, even in the darkest of days, laughter is the greatest of gifts.

"We are bereft without you but will hold so tight to each other. Your grace & your smile that lit up every room you were in, will light the stars to guide us."
