Judge blocks Biden’s transgender student protections in 6 more states
A federal judge temporarily blocked the Biden administration's new Title Nine rule expanding protections for LGBTQ students in six states. We've seen this policy come under attack more and more. How is the Biden administration responding to the set back? Yeah. So, you know, I think we can expect the Biden administration to defend this in court, that they'll continue to push for these Title 9 regulations that they put through. Certainly the White House has been very outspoken about their frustration with both the courts and, you know, Republican LED legislatures in Florida, Texas, other red states at how they have sort of pushed through legislation that has rolled back protections for transgender youth in particular. You know, the fight over the Florida don't say gay bill a couple years ago was obviously a big flash point. But more broadly, the White House has certainly spoken out about the need to do more to protect transgender youth. They've spoken about sort of the risks that that group faces and the mental health struggles that that group goes through. So certainly the White House is going to defend those Title 9 regulations, even though President Trump, if he, you know, gets re elected, he's vowed to overturn on those regulations as soon as he takes office. So certainly these Title 9 rules are are becoming sort of the latest flashpoint really in the sort of culture wars in the presidential election cycle.
