Jahvid Gadd learns his fate over brutal attack of a woman in her Mildura home
A diagnosed schizophrenic who attacked a mother while on a drug and alcohol fuelled bender could be freed within months.
Jahvid Gadd, 32, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and one of discharging missiles when he faced Mildura Magistrates Court on Monday.
Harrowing CCTV played in court showed a frantic Gadd banging on the door of a family's home in Mildura on the Victoria/NSW border on May 18.
The court heard that when the mother told him that her children were asleep, Gadd violently punched her several times in the head before throwing her to the ground and kicked her.
Gadd was sentenced to four months behind bars and with 18 days already served in remand, is likely to be released in October.

The court heard that Gadd returned to the home the following day after the attack, where he was spotted by a local throwing rocks at the woman, Mildura News reports.
The local reported the incident to police, which sparked an almost two-week search after Gadd fled to Adelaide, which violated a 2012 sex offenders register order.
He was finally arrested at a Davoren Park home in Adelaide's north on May 30 and extradited back to Victoria.
While questioned by police, Gadd claimed he had no recollection of the attack or the follow-up incident.
His lawyer told the court that at the time of the attack, he hadn't 'slept in four days' and had been binge drinking and using drugs due to mental health issues.
The court also heard that Gadd was apologetic when he was shown the footage, but denied the rock-throwing attack took place.

Magistrate Patrick Southey was shocked by the video, especially by the 'force of the first punch and how forcefully he threw her on the ground'.
He added that all of those who watched the footage were 'shocked, appalled and sickened' by Gadd's actions.
Police prosecutor Matt Pardon said the 'scariest' moment during the attack was the kick which luckily grazed the mother's head.
Magistrate Southey found Gadd to be unsuitable for a community corrections order and sentenced him to time behind bars.
He added that Gadd would have been jailed for seven months if he hadn't pleaded guilty.
