'With Ukraine for as long as it takes'
Think the very strong turn out, as today's summit demonstrates, the determination within the international community to see an end to the war in Ukraine and end to the suffering peace returned to the European continent. The war has impacted people in so many different ways, including at home with energy bills. So it's right that we find a lasting peace on terms that is acceptable to Ukraine based on the principles of a territorial integrity in the UN Charter. Some of the important topics we'll be discussing today include food security, nuclear security, and the return of forcibly deported Ukrainian children. Prime Minister has already paid a huge price in this war so far. Do you think that the West has been too scared of Vladimir Putin to actually help Ukraine defeat him? Well, I'm pleased that the UK has played a leading role in providing support to Ukraine, the first country to provide lethal aid. More recently, under my leadership, the first country to provide main battle tanks, long range weapons, to train Air Force pilots. That demonstrates the strength and support for Ukraine. And I think crucially, at the G7 summit over the past few days, we reached a landmark agreement to ensure that it's Russia that pays for more military support and economic reconstruction of Ukraine, using this trapped and seized Russian assets to fund an emergency loan of $50 billion. Again, it just demonstrates the unity across the G7 and should send a strong signal to Vladimir Putin that we're not going anywhere. We are with Ukraine for as long as it takes.
