Liverpool’s fixtures for the upcoming 2024/25 Premier League season have been released and the Reds will begin with a trip to Ipswich Town.
Arne Slot is the new head coach following the departure of Jurgen Klopp and his first home game at Anfield will see Liverpool take on Brentford.
There is a huge early test for Slot as his Liverpool side then travel to Old Trafford to face fierce rivals Manchester United at the end of August.
Liverpool’s Boxing Day game sees them host Leicester City while the Merseyside derbies with Everton will be played away on December 7 and at home on April 2.

‘Liverpool will avoid a drop-off like Man Utd and Arsenal’

Liverpool legend and football pundit Jamie Carragher insists his old club have learned a valuable lesson from Manchester United and Arsenal’s ‘drop-offs’.
Both clubs suffered a dip when their legendary long-term managers Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson left – but Carragher doesn’t see a Liverpool repeat.
Asked if he felt Jurgen Klopp’s successor Arne Slot could suffer a similar fate to David Moyes and Unai Emery, Carragher told Metro.co.uk: ‘I don’t think so. Manchester United went from first to seventh when Alex Ferguson left. Liverpool just finished third so I don’t think we are going to drop to 10th.
‘I expect us to be competitive, as long as we have a good summer transfer window. We have people behind the scenes. I don’t think they had that structure at Man United when Ferguson left. It was the same with Wenger.

‘They were old-fashioned football managers who ran everything and those days have gone. The reason those days are gone is because when a figure like that – or any manager in fact – moves on, you almost have to start again.
‘I don’t think any manager wants that. I think the fact Arne Slot will be a head coach rather than a manager is pretty telling. I don’t see Liverpool having as big a drop-off as Man United and Arsenal.
‘There might be a drop-off, because Jurgen Klopp is a great football manager, but I still expect Liverpool to compete for all honours including the Champions League.’

‘We are an attack-minded team that likes to have a lot of the ball, and we play with a lot of intensity,’ Slot has said about his own style of football.
‘When we don’t have the ball, we want to win it back as quickly as possible by being aggressive and pressing to win back possession. I think we are a team that is difficult to beat.’
