‘Huge coup’: Jeremy Marshall-King inks new deal to stay at the Dolphins despite interest from southern rivals
The Dolphins have locked in one of their most important players until the end of 2028 after crafty hooker Jeremy Marshall-King agreed to a new deal.
The New Zealand representative has developed into one of the best hookers in the NRL after the Dolphins pinched him from the Bulldogs in their inaugural season.
He made the break that led to the club’s first try in the NRL, and his guile around the ruck has helped the team’s unheralded forwards crash over for simple tries on the back of the space he created.
Marshall-King’s decision to re-sign comes after he was linked with a move to follow coach Wayne Bennett to the Rabbitohs next year, but he can see good times ahead with the Dolphins, the surprise packets of the season.

“I have really enjoyed my time so far at the Dolphins,” Marshall-King said.
“I have appreciated the change since moving from Sydney and my family is enjoying life around the club.
“I am also excited by the future the Dolphins have and what we can do in the NRL over the next few years.”
Dolphins chief executive Terry Reader said the move was a “huge coup” for the club as they look to build in just their second season.
“It is fair to say that people are quickly realising how important he is to our team,” he said.
“His contract extension is wonderful news for our members and fans and a key part to setting the future of our club’s spine.
“We are very pleased that Jeremy and his family have decided to commit long-term with the Dolphins.”
