More than 1,300 BTO flats with waiting times of about 3 years to be offered in June launch
SINGAPORE - A total of 1,352 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Woodlands and Tampines with waiting times of around three years will be launched before the end of June.
A 791-unit project in Woodlands, Marsiling Peak I, has a waiting time of two years and 11 months – the shortest in the upcoming sales exercise, the Housing Board said on June 16.
It is the first batch of flats with a shorter waiting time – less than three years – to be launched in 2024.
The Tampines GreenTopaz project, located near Tampines West MRT station, will have 561 flats with a slightly longer waiting time of three years and one month.
More than 2,800 flats with shorter waiting times will be offered in 2024, including more than 2,000 in the October sales exercise.
HDB said it had committed in 2023 to launch 2,000 to 3,000 flats with shorter waiting times each year by 2025.
“Working closely with other agencies and our construction partners, HDB is now able to do this one year ahead of schedule, in 2024,” it said.
The board said it will continue to recalibrate its building programme over time so that flats with shorter waiting times – including those of four years or less – make up a larger proportion of new supply.
Marsiling Peak I, comprising two-room flexi, three-, four- and five-room flats, will be built along Admiralty Road and Marsiling Lane. It has three blocks that range from 31 to 35 storeys.
The development is near Woodlands Checkpoint, with Woodlands and Woodlands North MRT stations about 2km away.
HDB said the flats are positioned to offer views of nearby parks and the Strait of Johor, as well as the precinct’s central courtyard.
The blocks’ design will incorporate brown accents and tones, inspired by the history of Woodlands town, which was named for its heavily wooded appearance when viewed from Johor, it added.
Nearby amenities include a market and food centre located in the neighbourhood centre, as well as Causeway Point shopping complex, Woodlands Civic Centre and Admiralty Park.
The 791-unit project is among 1,590 flats that will be launched in Woodlands in June, which will also include three-generation units.
Tampines GreenTopaz, bounded by Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Street 92, comprises four blocks of 12 or 13 storeys with 561 two-room flexi, four- and five-room flats. One of the blocks will have 24 rental flats.

The development will have eateries, a supermarket, a pre-school and shops. It is near Tampines Park Connector, which leads to Bedok Reservoir Park.
More than 6,800 flats will be launched in the June sales exercise, with the other projects in Jurong East, Kallang/Whampoa, Queenstown and Yishun. HDB did not reveal the launch date.
A 1,270-unit project in Yishun will be the first BTO launch in Chencharu, an up-and-coming housing area.
In all, about 19,600 BTO flats will be launched across the three sales exercises in 2024.
The final sales launch of 2024 will be held in October, when the new classification of flats into Prime, Plus or Standard categories will take effect.
BTO units in choicer locations will fall under the Prime and Plus categories, which come with stricter resale conditions such as a 10-year minimum occupation period (MOP) and a subsidy clawback.
Standard flats, which will form the bulk of public housing supply, will come with a five-year MOP and have no significant restrictions on the pool of resale buyers.
