France : protesters stand up to far-right ahead of elections
In Nice, Marseille or Leon, people across France have been taking part in demonstrations this Saturday to stand up against the far right. In Paris, 10s of thousands of protesters gathered at before marching through the east of the city. They fear the upcoming election could produce France's first far right government since World War 2. On Friday, left wing parties put aside their differences to form the Popular Front and despite showing a few cracks already, the new alliance showed up as a united force at the demonstration. Everyone needs to pick up their phone. Called their friends and convinced them that we can't go back to the dark ages. The alliance still has some convincing to do. A first series of opinion polls have projected the National Rally could win the election and be in a position to form the next government, putting party leader Jordan on track to becoming France's next Prime Minister.
