Starmer called 'political robot'
I admired how in such a way with the public, when you obviously a solicitor and then you became a director of public prosecutions with CPS. But over the last year, I feel like you formed into more of a politician than the person that I would have voted for to run the country. You seem more like a political robot. How are you? How are you going to convince others like me to vote for you? Well. The most? Look, all I can say I, I went to run the Crown Prosecution Service. You referenced that I was the chief prosecutor for. Five years, effectively bringing every criminal prosecution in England, in Wales, including here in Grimsby. In our courts to make sure that where people broke the law, they were prosecuted and you were kept safer as a result of that Working, of course, with my staff. I worked before that in Northern Ireland, so I've had this constant theme in my life of trying to serve the public. That's why I worked in Northern Ireland, that's why I worked in the Crown Prosecution Service, That's why I took the decision to go into politics. I came into politics quite late in life. I'd done other things beforehand, but I took the decision that I couldn't take the issues, make the changes that I thought were necessary unless I went into politics. I was frustrated. You think you've changed? Well, I've been much clearer in my own mind that the country must come first and the party and party politics 2nd.
