Waz Lian group founder dies at 72

PETALING JAYA: Ta Kin Yan, founder and chairman of Waz Lian group, has died. He was 72.
According to company officials, the business tycoon passed away yesterday afternoon in his sleep, The Star reported.
In addition to leading Waz Lian, a conglomerate that owns several resorts and hotels, Ta was also the founder of the real estate company Majestic Gen Sdn Bhd.
His business footprint can be found in the construction company Fajarbaru Builder Group Bhd, in which he had a direct 12.38% stake.
Ta also sat on the Socio-Economic Research Centre (SERC) advisory panel and was an eminent member of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).
