Araujo evasive on Barca future amid exit talk
Ronald Araujo has dodged answering questions on his future at Barcelona while on international duty with Uruguay.
The defender is preparing for an opening Copa America clash against Panama and was asked if he’d been staying at the club at a press conference.
Yet Araujo didn’t want to talk about that all and offered up the following response: “Now I am one hundred percent focused on Uruguay and focused on the Copa América.”
It’s the kind of answer which will get the rumor mill excited all over again about a possible exit for the center-back this summer.
Araujo has been linked with a big-money move away from Barcelona on several occasions this year, although recent speculation has claimed he is part of Hansi Flick’s plans.
Yet there’s also a suggestion that Barcelona have made a new contract offer to Araujo and are still waiting for a response. His current deal still has two years left to run.
