Discover the new pieces from Zara Home+ by Vincent Van Duysen

Designer collaborations with high street brands are an established part of the retail landscape these days, but there’s one that’s guaranteed to get design fans’ pulses racing and that’s the creative partnership between Zara Home and Vincent Van Duysen. The first collection launched in 2022 to huge commercial and critical acclaim and was followed by a second equally successful range last year.

‘Collection 03’, launching today, marks a departure from the previous focus on specific rooms. Instead, we have highly collectible pieces that will slip effortlessly into existing schemes, subtly elevating everyday life with their craftsmanship, quality of materials and attention to detail.

For this third drop, the Belgian architect and designer delved into his archive to revisit his most iconic pieces and styles, reimagining them for today while still honouring his design DNA and values. There are sinuous shapes, particularly notable in ‘Chaise Longue 01’, which is crafted from stained oak and leather, and draws inspiration from a chair in Van Duysen’s former home in Antwerp.

The versatile ‘Library System 01’ can act as a screen around a sofa, both embracing the seating component while at the same time displaying books and objects. A solid wood structure with embedded metal containers gives this piece a striking and distinctive texture, a detail that is characteristic of Van Duysen’s approach to materiality.

Meanwhile, the low-slung ‘Lounge Chair 02’ brings to mind a vintage chair with its functional form, yet there’s something about it that has more of a sculptural character. ‘As an Epicurean who appreciates art and beauty, my approach is to introduce a new dimension, a more sensitive one’, says Van Duysen.

There are striped kilim rugs and cushions and objects ranging from wooden to solid brass accessories that double as self-standing decorative elements within a space or on a tabletop, pedestal, or nightstand. Each exudes the quiet, restrained elegance that Van Duysen is revered for. The new collection is available from June 12, online and in selected stores. zarahome.com
