Zelensky says China trying to undermine Ukraine peace summit
A surprise guest at the security forum in Singapore bringing together defense chiefs from across the Asia Pacific, Vladimir Zelinsky sought to rally support for an upcoming peace conference in Switzerland and accused China of trying to sabotage attendance. The war will last longer if Russia is supported by China. This is bad for the whole world. To disrupt the peace summit, to take steps to reduce attendance, doing everything to prevent the presence of certain leaders at the peace summit by putting pressure on them. This definitely does not bring us closer to peace. Through the summit, Kiev hopes to win broad international backing it needs to end Russia's war. Zelensky says more than 100 countries and organizations had signed up to the conference, set to be held in loose sound on the 15th and the 16th of June. Beijing says it would be difficult for it to join if Russia is not invited, citing the need for equal participation of both parties. There is a gap between the meetings arrangements and what China stands for will continue to promote peace talks in our own, maintain communications with all parties and jointly discuss conditions for settling the Ukraine crisis. While China has repeated its neutral stance and denies its supplies Russia with weapons, Washington says Beijing has been providing key components used to build up Russia's war arsenal, with some 70% of the machine tools and 90% of the microelectronics Russia imports coming from China.
