This Morning's Cat Deeley breaks down in tears and struggles to present after Rob Burrow tribute
This Morning star Cat Deeley broke down in tears and struggled to continue presenting on Tuesday following an emotional tribute to Rob Burrow CBE.
Over the weekend it was sadly announced that former Leeds Rhinos rugby legend, Rob, had passed away at the age of 41 following a battle with motor neurone disease. Rob, who retired from playing in 2017, was diagnosed with MND in 2019 and raised millions alongside former team-mate Kevin Sinfield to raise awareness of the disease before his death.
On Tuesday's This Morning, the ITV chatshow paid an emotional tribute to Rob as they played the former rugby player's final message, which was recorded for BBC documentary There’s Only One Rob Burrow, with Rob asking for it to be shared after his death.
He said in the emotional footage: "My final message to you is whatever your personal battle be brave and face it. Every single day is precious, don't waste a moment. In a world full of adversity we must still dare to dream. Rob Burrow, over and out."

After the emotional clip and tribute played out, Cat, 47, fought back tears as she struggled to continue presenting. Co-host, Ben Shephard, said: "You alright?" to which a crying Cat replied: "No! I told you I watched it this morning, losing a loved one is one of the hardest thing we'll ever go through which is why Deidre is here to help you manage your grief today." This Morning then revealed that they would be having a phone in segment called: "Coping with grief."
Rob's former club announced his death on Sunday. The Burrow family released a statement paying tribute to him, which was also shared on the Leeds Rhinos website. It read: "It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved son, husband, father, brother and friend.
"Rob has always been a true inspiration throughout his life whether that was on the rugby league field or during his battle with MND (motor neurone disease). He never allowed others to define what he could achieve and believed in his own ability to do more.
"The outpouring of love and support that rob and the whole Burrow family have received over the last four and half years meant so much to Rob. In particular, the rugby league family and the MND community have rallied around rob to inspire him, thank you for your support.
"For those who knew Rob throughout his life, his determination and spirit in the face of MND over the last four and half years came as no surprise. Rob never accepted that he couldn't do something, he just found his own way of doing it better than anyone else. He will continue to inspire us all every day. In a world full of adversity, we must dare to dream."
