Met Office Thursday Afternoon Weather Forecast 23/05/2024
Hello, very good day to you. It's not going to be as wet as it was yesterday, but nonetheless there is still quite a bit of wet weather around, particularly across northern parts today and that could still cause some further issues or due to the area of low pressure that pushed in yesterday lingering across northern parts as we go through the rest of this week. It is filling and the rain is easing, but like I said, we could still see some further issues as a result of the wet weather. But across southern areas today, it's actually looking largely dry. The as a bit dry. And so I'm not expecting a repeat of the heavy thunderstorms we saw developing yesterday. And there should be some sunny breaks developing, especially across parts of the southeast. But elsewhere, across many areas, it is going to be pretty cloudy and there will be some outbreaks of rain. Not as persistent, not as torrential as yesterday, but some heavier bursts are still possible. There could be some travel disruption, a bit more flooding perhaps as well. With the cloudy, the wet and for some of us, blustery weather. It's going to feel quite unpleasant. Quite cool for some of us in fact. Temperatures in some places will stay in single figures. A different story though, towards the South SE where we get some sunshine, lighter winds. Here it is going to feel markedly warmer temperatures just about getting into the low 20 Celsius, not about not a huge amount changes as we go through this evening and overnight. Staying with the north-south split if you want clearer skies towards southern areas, cloudier across many other parts and further outbreaks of rain and still some blustery winds. Because of the cloud, the rain, the blustery winds, temperatures for many not dropping a huge amount, generally staying in double figures. Perhaps something a little bit chillier where we get any clear skies towards western parts of Scotland and also some clear skies towards southern southeastern parts of England could lead to a bit of a fresh basher. Chillier start here on Friday morning. Otherwise then as we go through Friday, it looks fairly similar to today really. Again, northern areas likely to be cloudier. Further outbreaks of rain generally, like I said, it is easing compared to today and yesterday, but some heavier bursts, some heavier showers are quite possible in the South. A dryer story again, but one or two showers may pep up as we go into the afternoon looking at our temperatures and they don't look too dissimilar to today. But in the South it may be a touch fresher 19, possibly scraping 20 Celsius. But further north I think it will start to feel a little bit warmer, temperatures rising a few degrees. So feeling a little bit more pleasant compared to today and also compared to yesterday. More showery outbreaks across northern parts as we go through Friday night into Saturday, drier further South and then Saturday itself may actually get off to a largely fine start. It could be a bit chilly and it's probably going to be the driest day of the weekend for most of us, with the good chance of seeing some sunshine around before then. Some rain pushes its way in in time for Sunday and this could turn quite heavy. Could see some further impacts in association with this Monday, while Bank Holiday Monday is causing us a few headaches at the moment. Bit uncertain, but at the moment it looks like the wettest weather will be towards more eastern parts and further W. You have a greater chance of seeing some decent dry weather, but Annie will be around on our YouTube channel this afternoon with the weekend forecast, so do check that out if you have plans for the long weekend. I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
