Girls Aloud fans in tears with band's emotional tribute to Sarah Harding during tour

girls aloud fans in tears with band's emotional tribute to sarah harding during tour

Many fans attending the band's latest gig were left in tears

Girls Aloud left fans teary-eyed as they paid an emotional tribute to their late band member Sarah Harding during their latest concert. The girl group, including Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, reunited for their first arena tour in a decade, which kicked off last week with a show in Dublin.

They also put on a performance in Belfast earlier this week and are set to hit the stage in Manchester tonight (May 23). To honour Sarah, who tragically lost her battle with breast cancer last year at the age of just 39, the remaining quartet performed their hit song The Promise.

They observed a poignant moment of silence at the part that Sarah used to sing. A screen displayed footage of Sarah singing along as gold glitter and confetti rained down onto the stage.

The lyrics resonated powerfully: "So here I am. A walking Primrose. Wondering when I'm gonna see you again."

When the moving tribute concluded, the crowd erupted into applause and the band resumed their performance. The moment was captured by fan called Jeremy Hewitt, who shared the video on Facebook.

The clip quickly spread, surpassing 250,000 views, Wales Online reports. The caption reads: "The Promise #missyousarah #girlsaloud," alongside a heart emoji.

Fans lovingly filled the comments section with heartfelt messages and kind words of support. Gary commented: "What a beautiful thing to do."

Another shared: "The girls are doing Sarah proud! Rest in peace Sarah." Debbie expressed: "How beautiful. Gone far too soon. May Peace be with her. Gave me goosebumps."

Kelsie revealed: "Wow this made me cry and cry. She was such a beautiful woman what a lovely thing to see."

Kerry confessed: "Omg made me really emotional... she was so beautiful." Lynn admitted: "Tears flowing - Beautiful and touching tribute to Sarah."

Besides fans and those attending the concerts, the members of Girls Aloud have also experienced moments of emotion during their tour. On the second night of their tour, Cheryl and Nadine broke down on stage as they sang their hit single "Stand By You."

A fan, Themikeymoscow, posted a video capturing the poignant moment. They wrote: "Cheryl absolutely breaking our hearts during I'll Stand By You at night 2 of #TheGirlsAloudShow in Dublin."

LeighAltree responded: "She looked to be struggling emotionally on both nights. Hope she's okay." Paulafegan97 remarked: "I was very near the back and I knew they were sad but I didn't realise they were this upset. I was in tears last night and I'm in tears again now watching this."
