EPL: Chelsea legend disappointed by club’s decision to sack Pochettino

Chelsea legend, Ashley Cole has expressed his disappointment over the club’s decision to part ways with former manager, Mauricio Pochettino.

Cole believed the team was improving under Pochettino’s leadership and hoped the decision would still benefit the club’s progress.

Recall that Chelsea recently sacked Pochettino as manager of the Blues.

In an interview with Virgin Media Sport, Cole emphasized the difficulty of the Chelsea managerial role and was surprised by Pochettino’s departure.

“It was always going to be hard with the expectations of what the board expected, it was a tough start for him, but to finish where they finished was a great achievement in itself.

“Disappointed that he’s left, but they have their own ideas on where they see the team going and which manager they want to bring in for that. Hopefully, the direction is to win.”
