"Ako po’y andito at kumakatawan sa organisasyong Aktor—League of Filipino Actors, whose aim is to cultivate a vibrant community of proud actors.

"Tulad po ninyo, mahal namin ang ating industriya, ang ating mga kasamahan, at siyempre pati na rin ang mga entabladong ibinigay sa atin—ang telebisyon, at higit sa lahat—pelikula.

"Motion pictures have a long history in the Philippines, and the Philippine movie industry being one of the oldest in Asia.

"Naniniwala po kami that movies are one of the primary cultural forces contributing to the formation of the Philippine nation, serving as a rich source of visions—both public and personal—in which Filipinos reflect the struggles, challenges, triumphs, and the future we aspire for.

"Movies serve as both social documents and visions of the future, often depicted in magical terms.

"In this context, naniniwala po kami that movies serve as our representations and aspirations. Aktors, on the other hand, also play a significant part in being our nation's storytellers.

And so for us, Aktors to integrate fully, at para magampanan nang maayos ang aming papel sa ating industriya at sa lipunan, we imagine all of us being in the persona of a Proud Aktor.

"Kumbaga sa isang role, ginuhit namin anong klaseng karakter ang gusto naming mapanood at magampanan. And si Proud Aktor ay: Isang Paragon of Professionalism. Isang Protector of Community, isang Cultural Champion, at isang Nation Builder.

"Ang araw po na ito ay makabuluhan para sa amin, dahil buong puso po naming ipinepresenta sa inyo ang aming bisyon—brought to life by this person.

"We are proud to say that she is our member, and much more, part of the board of advisers.

"She is none other than Vilma Santos-Recto.

"Today, we celebrate Vilma Santos—a name synonymous with versatility, excellence, and unparalleled craftsmanship in Philippine cinema.

"For sixty years, Vilma has graced the silver screen with an incomparable body of work, portraying a diverse array of characters that showcase her immense talent.

"Renowned for breathing life into roles described as 'women of substance,' she has garnered numerous awards from prestigious bodies, both local and international, solidifying her status as the most awarded actress in Philippine cinema history.

"Beyond accolades, Vilma Santos continues to leave an indelible mark on our cultural landscape, portraying iconic roles that deeply resonate with the Filipino psyche.

"From her early days at St. Mary’s College to becoming a cinematic legend, Vilma has continuously evolved, tackling challenging roles that inspire and provoke thought.

"Vilma Santos’s range is unparalleled. Her portrayals bring truth and authenticity to the screen, captivating audiences across generations.

"Vilma’s contributions extend beyond entertainment—her public service as mayor, governor, and congresswoman reflects her commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of her constituents.

"Her journey from reel to real life mirrors the depth of the characters she portrayed. Respected and untarnished by any accusations of corruption, she became Mayor Vi, Governor Vi, and Congresswoman Vi.

"Vilma Santos stands not only as an actress but also as a symbol of empowerment and resilience, embodying the strength and spirit of Filipinos.

"Known as the Star for All Seasons, she continues to excel in both reel and real life, always bringing pride to the country.

"Her enduring legacy as a pioneer and an icon of Philippine cinema will forever shine bright in our hearts and minds, inspiring excellence across all seasons and generations.

"For giving voice to the Filipino in her many guises, struggles, and opportunities across six decades, she has portrayed the evolution of Filipinos.

"Through her accomplished portrayals in both movies, television, and public service, we believe that VILMA SANTOS has contributed significantly to the development of Filipino cultural impact and identity.

"Today, we honor her as a paragon of professionalism, a protector of community, a cultural champion, and a nation-builder.

"Sa ngalan ng aming organisasyon, aming officers, Board of Directors—namely Piolo Pascual, Iza Calzado, Agot Isidro, Cherry Pie Picache, Mylene Dizon, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, at ang aming Board of Advisers, Christopher de Leon, Tirso Cruz III, at Charo Santos, we wholeheartedly endorse the nomination of Rosa Vilma Santos-Recto to the Order of National Artist for Film and Broadcast."
