Carla Says She Is Ready To Fall In Love Again
Carla is this guest on this week's episode of Fast Talk With Boy Abunda. She gets candid with Boy Abunda about her past year, her latest series Widows' War, and love after divorce.
"To love again parang not necessarily na yung aking isip ay nasa romantic love but, you know, basically to love life again. To love where I am at this point in time," said Carla when asked if she was ready to love again.
When it comes to her failed marriage, Carla shared what she learned from it. "Relationships are so important. Family is important. Marriage is important. It's sacred pa nga po. Pero kapag pag hindi na po tama or...parang too much already, hindi na po dapat ipilit pa. Hindi naman po sinasabi na yung mga mag-asawa na hundi po okay ay dapat mahiwalay na po. If there are things that are already too painful or hindi na po maayos or ma-resolve dapat hindi po siya dapat pinipilit because you might lose yourself or maging malala po kapag po na maraming na pong ibang affected, hindi na po dapat."
Carla Says She's Happy With Her Life
"It was a difficult journey to get to this point but, yes, definitely, confident na sabihing I am happy," said Carla when asked if she's happy despite everything she went through.
In 2021, eagle-eyed netizens spotted that she and Tom Rodriguez unfollowed each other on Instagram months after their wedding. In 2022, Tom confirmed that he filed for divorce.
"We haven't spoken since," said Carla of how she is now with Tom. The actress also mentioned that she isn't updated about Tom or his dating life. But she carries no anger towards her ex-husband.
"Yung galit. How much of that is really gone?" asked Boy. Carla replied, "Hundred percent. Ang hirap na may bibit na galit, Tito Boy, life is so short. Pag when you hold on to anger it will just ruin you. It will manifest sa inyong health, dala dala nyo po yun eh. And I believe naman po hindi po kayo fully makaka-move on kung may kaunting galit pa rin naiiwan."
Carla Knows The Best Is Yet To Come
"At this point po it's one thing nahindi ko masyadong iniisip. Especially with the amount of work that we have and the very little time that we have to ourselves, to rest and recover, for personal matters. Hindi po siya priority," said Carla about her next chapter in love, but she remains hopeful for what's ahead.
"Sabi ko naman mo po sarili ko na ayaw kong i-close po yung sarili ko. I don't want to be too bitter or too angry at the world. Ayaw ko naman maging open ayaw kong hanapin or habulin. Whatever comes na lang po along the way, we'll see where it will take me."
Carla ultimately described what she is like now after her marriage and divorce. "The most obvious po is stronger, wiser, and medyo contradictory, but vulnerable, at the same time, which is still good."
"See you soon. I hope to meet you soon. I can't wait to see how our paths will cross," said Carla as a message to her future love.
Closing the interview, Boy asked if Carla is over the pain. She replied, "Definitely free from the pain. I've let go of that. Hindi na po siya nakakapit, hindi na po siya naghahabol."
