Aaron Rodgers Works Out in L.A. (But Not in Egypt?!) Jets Tracker

JUNE 29 WHERE IS AARON? Aaron Rodgers was apparently in Los Angeles recently.

Cool.

So that means he wasn't also at some exotic locale doing exotic things that causes him to miss, "unexcused,'' mandatory Jets work?

Not cool.

Aaron Rodgers Works Out in L.A. (But Not in Egypt?!) Jets Tracker

During an appearance on FS1's "The Herd," Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Rodgers' former teammate from the Packers, shared details of their recent workout together.

"Me and Aaron have been great friends since I had been in Green Bay. I hit him up, told him I was coming out to LA, and said, 'Let's run some routes,'" Valdes-Scantling told host Jason McIntyre.

And so they spent time practicing at a local high school. Good stuff.

But then came the apologist stuff.

Said (Jets fan) McIntyre: "All the New York media can stand down! Aaron Rodgers is back from Egypt! It's not a secret anymore!"

Funny. But a silly joke doesn't mean a dismissal of what some see as a problem.

JUNE 27 – COBB SURVIVES FIRE – On Wednesday, the football world received a scare, when the Cobb family took to social media to announce that they had survived a house fire.

After his family was out of the house, former New York Jets receiver Randall Cobb went back in to save his dog, Louie.

“We can’t thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their swift action,” Cobb posted. “I can’t get the image of the brave firefighter getting into position out of my head; he didn’t even have water to shoot yet. … Unfortunately, we don’t know how much, if anything, will be salvageable, but this has been a reminder that nothing is more important than the health of our family.”

According to Cobb’s wife, Aiyda, the fire started after a Tesla charger caught on fire.

The family emphasized their gratitude to the first responders and the Nashville community, as well as the friends and family that have come together to support them during these tough times.

JUNE 26 – NO, MIKE – Our best guess as to why Mike Tannenbaum does this sort of thing all of the time? It's how you keep the microphone on in Bristol - how a guy keeps a job.

The ESPN killing-time subject: Which NFL player would you take to start a franchise with? The ex-Jets GM's answer?

Hey, if you say Josh Allen or Joe Burrow or Lamar Jackson, you're just another smart guy with a logical opinion.

But if you say you would take Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love over any other player on the planet, outside of Patrick Mahomes?

You keep your job.

"Outside of Patrick Mahomes, if we—the four of us were running an NFL team today, there is nobody on the planet I'd rather have than Jordan Love—period, end of sentence," said Tannebaum.

This sort of hot take of course, subjects Tannenbaum to the usual response on social media, which goes like this:

"That's why you're on TV and not in a front office.''

JUNE 11 – AARON'S BUDDY SIGNS – Marcedes Lewis' NFL career marches on ... at age 40.

Amid speculation that Aaron Rodgers' old Packers pal might hook up with the Jets, Lewis is re-signing with the Bears on a one-year deal, meaning he will play in his 19th NFL season.

He is the longest-tenured tight end in NFL history, having broken the tie a year ago with Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten and Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez.

"Year 19 loading," the Bears wrote on X, posting an image of Lewis signing his contract.

Lewis is now the second-oldest player in the NFL behind ... you know. Aaron Rodgers.

JUNE 10 – SNOW IN JUNE? – Why's Bills QB Josh Allen covered in snow on Media Day? Because snow is part of the show.

Actually, it's cascading confetti. So maybe it's some sort of Super Bowl practice?

No, we'll go with a snow showcase for the sake of photography and stuff.

NFL Cancels Draft Event That Gave New York Jets All-Pro Receiver

The Bills - perennial AFC East champs who figure to get a push this year from the Jets - will go back to work Tuesday for the start of their three-day mandatory minicamp in Orchard Park.

But first? Some photo fun!

MAY 18 – BEST D-LINE? – New York has invested in the D-line. Is it about to pay off with Quinnen Williams and Haasan Reddick and more leading the way?

Brian Baldinger of NFL Network is suggesting on the Green Light podcast that this group might be the league's best ... and at the very least will ...

"Create a lot of havoc.''
