‘Hope’ RBA minutes release will provide ‘more guidance’ on cash rate

Sky News Business reporter Edward Boyd says there is hope there will be a “bit more guidance” from the Reserve Bank Board Minutes about “how close” the RBA were to lifting the cash rate.

Mr Boyd’s comments come as the minutes from the RBA’s June board meeting are set to be released.

“There weren’t that many expectations two weeks ago that the Reserve Bank would release rates,” Mr Boyd told Sky News Australia.

“But since that June board meeting, we’ve seen the inflation figures come out last week … but we should get some more guidance from the Reserve Bank’s board,

“We know the chance of a rate rise has increased this week.”
