Beryl will soon barrel across the Atlantic as a hurricane
Before the end of the long weekend, we're expected to see the first hurricane of the 2024 season. Tropical Storm Barrel is expected to become a hurricane heading into Sunday, impacting the Lesser Antilles as we're heading into Monday. Now, this is moving right through the main development zone. And when we're taking a look at the temperature and the heat content of this region, it is equivalent of what we see in September, which is the peak of hurricane season. So it does have quite a bit of concern as to how the system. As well as this hurricane season is going to play out. Now on the heels of this, there is another disturbance that is in the western end of the Caribbean Sea, which only has a 14% chance of becoming a tropical storm. However, with Alberto as well as Barrel off the mark, we are going to be looking at the next possible name being Chris if that secondary disturbance comes to fruition.
