Leicester City reject initial Chelsea bid for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall — reports

The Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall situation had gone from zero to one-hundred in just 24 hours, but that momentum has been slowed a bit tonight with reports of Leicester City rejecting our initial offer.

Personal terms don’t appear to be any kind of hurdle, with the 25-year-old ready to move to Stamford Bridge to reunite with head coach Enzo Maresca, but the two teams have yet to agree a fee, despite their being no other team in the picture (Brighton were told by the player to go away, apparently).

However, no one’s saying how much this initial offer from Chelsea was, nor how much Leicester might be looking for. Exit rumors last year pegged the valuation at £30m, but that was before a great season in the Championship, both individually and collectively. We don’t know if Chelsea’s initial bid was in that ballpark, or not (either less or more). And there’s always the possibility of a part-exchange of course (Armando Broja, David Datro Fofana, and Cesare Casadei had been mentioned).

Dewsbury-Hall has been at Leicester since age 8, so he’s also said to be pretty okay with staying. So unless his head has completely turned, we’re going to have to come up with an acceptable deal for the club as well.
