Starfield Mod Gives a Lore Friendly Overhaul to the Mantis Armor Set
Starfield Mod Gives a Lore Friendly Overhaul to the Mantis Armor Set
- The Mantis armor set in Starfield gets a sleek makeover with mods available on Nexus Mods, enhancing its lore and aesthetics.
- With the original set used by a bounty hunter, the new look crafted through the mods arguably fits the concept even better, as it's intimidating and sleek.
- Bethesda's Creation Kit empowers modders to create more content for Starfield, though players still have concerns about paid mods.
The Mantis is one of the best armor sets that players can come across at the start of their Starfield journey, and a mod finally gives it an aesthetic that matches its lore and history. While Starfield has had diligent modders since launch, the debut of its Creation Kit has done wonders for its modding community. Some of these mods are paid Creations, but a vast majority of them can be accessed via Nexus Mods, the same as it always was for Bethesda titles.
However, Starfield players have had their issues with the implementation of Creations, as Steam reviews for Starfield plummet once again. Though it's unlikely that Bethesda will make fundamental changes to how paid mods work for Starfield, the team certainly has ample feedback to consider as The Elder Scrolls 6 continues development.

Todd Howard Has Good News for Starfield Fans
Bethesda Game Studios creative director Todd Howard reveals several exciting updates about Starfield and its upcoming Shattered Space DLC.
A player named Appropriate-Plan987 shared how a combination of two mods, both available via Nexus Mods, turns the Mantis armor from Starfield into a very stylish outfit, while honoring its lore. Gone is the rubbery and formless silhouette of the original concept, as the new Mantis armor embraces a sleek, almost intimidating aesthetic. Given that it belonged to a vigilante bounty hunter, it could be argued that the modded outfit is an upgrade over the original. The helmet belongs to the Infiltrator 2, while the KZ Mantis 2.0 features the rest of the armor, and players are obviously free to choose which combination suits them best.
It should be noted that the Infiltrator 2 mod adds a new, separate armor that players can buy in Cydonia, a secondary hub found in the Sol system in Starfield. Though both of these mods were made before the Creation Kit launched, the official modding tools will allow authors to more easily add new content to the game. Fallout 4 and Skyrim owe at least a part of their enduring longevity to the modding community, who have kept expanding on the Bethesda sandbox in often ambitious ways.
Bethesda Will Continue to Support Starfield With Annual Expansions
Bethesda itself will continue releasing official content for Starfield in the form of annual expansions, as one of the company's biggest regrets has been halting content support for Skyrim after a very successful first year. Shattered Space will take Starfield in a new direction, as the first expansion pack will feature alien environments, cosmic horror, and an adventure in the House Va'ruun capital of Dazra. It's expected to be released in Fall 2024, though no exact date has been given by Bethesda just yet.
