Manchester United have submitted an offer for Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, as per Dutch publication De Telegraaf.
The Red Devils are in the market for a new defender following the departure of Raphael Varane.
The English giants have identified the former Juventus star as the best choice to take over from the 2018 World Cup champion.
United boss Erik Ten Hag is reportedly keen on reuniting with yet another one of his former Ajax players.
Therefore, the club reportedly tabled an opening five-year contract proposal for De Ligt.
The 24-year-old who is currently valued at around €65 million has a deal at Bayern Munich that expires in the summer of 2027.
