ZiPS’ most recent update features a list of the biggest offensive gainers from their preseason projections, and right at the top is the Yankee captain. New York Post | Greg Joyce: DJ LeMahieu has struggled to recapture any of the oomph his bat held in 2019 and 2020, with worse and worse performance every year since. This problem’s compounded by the lack of effective backups, with neither Oswaldo Cabrera nor recent acquisition J.D. Davis inspiring much confidence. The Yankees may be forced to wait it out, at least a little while longer, and see if DJ can move forward.
