Met Office Monday Afternoon Weather Forecast 01/07/2024
Very good day to you. There is some sunshine around today but for many it's going to be pretty cloudy and there will be some rain at times too. That rain mainly in association with this frontal system that is making its way S eastwards. It's already brought some rain across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland and as we go through the afternoon it's going to bring more rain across eastern Scotland, northern central England and across parts of Wales towards the South SE clinging on to the dry weather. Could be some sunshine around at times. Some thickening cloud pushing its way in as we go through later on in the day. Temperatures are going to be around average for the time of year where we get any decent sunshine likely to rise into the low twenties 21 possibly 22 Celsius. Perhaps feeling a little bit cooler than this further north and West and there will be some blustery winds, particularly across northern and western parts where there is cloud and rain. Going to feel a bit cool for the time of year as well. The front does then continue its way S eastwards as we go through the end of the day. So the cloudy damp weather pushing into parts of southeast. As we go overnight, turning a bit damp here overnight, otherwise we are going to see some clear skies developing, particularly across northern and western parts, and just a few showery outbreaks of rain around. Temperatures aren't going to drop a huge amount. Most places holding up in double digits are relatively mild night, particularly across some parts of east and southeastern England where there will be that thicker cloud because of that lingering front. That then means it's going to be a bit of a grey damp start to the day across eastern South eastern parts with some drizzly rain around, but that should gradually clear away towards the southeast as we go through the day itself and elsewhere. There will be some fine weather around, a bit brighter than today for many places, some sunny spells with a scattering of showers here and there before more persistent showery rain pushes its way in across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland as we go through later on in the afternoon. Temperatures on paper will be relatively similar to today, but if you do catch any sunshine it will perhaps feel a little bit warmer. In the southeast, where the cloud lingers for a good chunk of the day, it may feel a little bit cooler, even though again, temperatures should just about get into the low 20s. Through tomorrow evening we are going to see a bit of a NS split across northern areas. Outbreaks of rain, some of them a little bit on the heavy side towards the South, staying mostly dry. There could even be some late sunshine as we go through the evening. As we go through the rest of the week, there is more changeable weather to come. Western parts will see the heaviest rain, the most frequent rain as well. There will be some blustery winds around at times and temperatures generally are going to be around or a little bit below average for the time of year. It is early July. Annie will be back on our YouTube channel later on with more information about what we can expect in our week ahead forecast. I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
