Full List: Orlando Pirates’ 5 signings so far

We know it so well. Orlando Pirates always show aggression in the transfer market. Reports say the Sea Robbers have made five new signings for the senior team. Two other signings are likely to be for the third division team Pele Pele, as well as the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC).

ORLANDO PIRATES COMPLETE FIVE SIGNINGS, ANNOUNCE ONE SO FAR

The first of the pack was the permanent signing of Thalente Mbatha who initially joined in January on loan from SuperSport United. Orlando Pirates have since made the announcement of the Angolan international winger Gilberto from Petro de Luanda.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Delvi Miguel Vieira,” the club said.

“The 23-year-old joins the Club on a three-year deal after passing a medical and finalising personal terms. Delvi, who is better known as Gilberto, joins the Buccaneers after two seasons with Angolan Girabola champions Petro du Luanda. The enterprising forward comes off an impressive season where he starred at the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast earlier in the year, helping guide Angola to the quarterfinals of the competition.

“Gilberto is due to fly back to Angola today to finalise the necessary paperwork so that he can join the squad for its outbound Preseason Tour to Spain from July 8,” Orlando Pirates added.

According to highly reliable sources, the Buccaneers have made three more signings, subject to official announcements. The list includes Selaelo Rasebotja from SuperSport, Orbit College’s exciting attacker Thuso Moleleki and performance analyst Devon O’Brien from Stellenbosch FC.

FULL LIST OF SIGNINGS

  • Selaelo Rasebotja – Midfielder

DEVELOPMENT SIGNIGNS

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have also made a couple of development signings. Following the exits of veteran goalkeepers Siyabonga Mpontshane and Richard Ofori, the club has promoted Siyabonga Dladla to the first team. Additionally, the Sea Robbers have signed two keepers for the development team: Ethan Khel from NC Proffessionals and Bayanda Thabethe from Midlands.

SuperSport’s Kegan Johannes was previously reported as a new Orlando Pirates signing but those reports have seemingly cooled and faded for now.
