The names and futures of the Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers appear to be interlinked at the moment and there are a lot of possibilities when it comes to players switching sides.

Paul George's future with the Clippers is uncertain and he is believed to be the 76ers' number-one target this summer although some reports have claimed that their interest in the 34-year-old has waned.

The Warriors are quickly emerging as one of George's most likely destinations as well, as they look to get back to contending for the Championship after a disappointing 2023-24 season.

On the other hand, the future of Klay Thompson is in doubt. After a glorious run with the Warriors that produced four Championships and innumerable unforgettable moments, it looks like he could be set to depart the Bay Area this summer.

At the moment, it looks like the Warriors are prioritizing the trade pursuit of George over the future of Thompson. According to NBC Sports, NBA insider Marc Stein said in an article published on Friday: "Golden State has this week prioritized the trade pursuit of the LA Clippers' Paul George above all other business.

"Yet that has only increased the chill between Thompson and the club after months of spotty and now scant contact between the sides…

"It will take time for many NBA-watchers to get used to the idea of Klay Thompson in a different uniform if he is indeed prepared to leave the Golden State Warriors in free agency. The signs, though, have frankly never pointed more strongly to it."

Interestingly, Thompson is believed to be a player the 76ers are keeping an eye on as they sit atop a mountain of cap space this offseason. Also, the Clippers were linked with the Warriors legend earlier this year.

It remains to be seen how things play out over the coming days and weeks. For the time being, nothing about the situation seems to be certain.

The best-case scenario for the 76ers this summer might be landing George. Someone like Thompson could be an excellent addition to the roster as well even though he is no longer the player he was in his prime.
