Hyatt Regency to cease trading in one Aussie city
The Hyatt Regency in Perth is about to undergo a massive change that will see the global hotel chain cease trading in the west, as the venue is rebranded.
On Monday, Tuan Sing announced it was terminating its contract with the Hyatt’s Perth hotel on August 31 costing the company about $20m as it looked at expanding it’s hospitality businesses across the Asia-Pacific region.

“Tuan Sing plans to share further information on a new hospitality offering for the site in the coming months, but can confirm the site will remain a hospitality-focused venue offering both short and long stay accommodation to guests,” the spokesman said.
They did not confirm if any job losses would result from the change, but there were no plans for the site to close throughout the changeover process.
“The announcement today from Tuan Sing does not impact any other Hyatt venues in Australia, including the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne,” the spokesman said.
