HOUSTON — Hundreds of thousands of people will pack downtown on Saturday, June 29, for the 46th Annual Official Houston Pride LGBT+ Celebration Festival and Parade.
Organizers say it's the oldest and largest Pride celebration in Texas and the third largest in the U.S.
The giant party kicks off with the Pride Festival from noon to 6 p.m. at Houston City Hall followed by the parade at 7:30 p.m.
This year's performers are K. Michelle, Brooke Eden, David Archuleta and Kayla G.
It's going to be hot Saturday with only a 10% chance of rain so wear cool clothing and drink lots of fluids. The 2024 event at 901 Bagby will see a revamped festival layout from Lamar to Rusk with many cooling tents, shaded walkways and free water (while supplies last). Seniors are allowed to bring lawn chairs.
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have issued a warning for potential terror threats at Pride events. With safety top of mind, organizers say they have 20 police agencies and private security working the event.
The festival is free for everyone under 21 and seniors 55+. General admission for everyone else is $5 in advance online or $10 at the gate. It includes outdoor concerts, DJs, a family fun zone and more.
If you want the Ultimate Pride Experience with VIP access, tickets are $225. Here's what's included.
- Exclusive VIP Entrance to Festival and Parade
- Open Bar in Festival and Parade
- Access to Main Stage Plaza
- Cooling Relaxation Zone in Festival
- Grandstand Parade Viewing
- A/C VIP Restrooms
The parade is free for everyone. There's a parade pre-show at 6 p.m. and the parade gets rolling at 7:30 p.m.
