All US military bases in Europe put on heightened alert
FOX team coverage for you this evening. Christina Coleman is standing by on who might be Trump's running mate in the election. And Senator Mike Rounds will join us with more on Trump's strategy to try to win over voters in the heartland. But first, Lucas Tomlinson is live at the White House for us. Lucas Well, good evening, John. Part of that chorus asking for President Biden to drop out includes the New York Times editorial page and many of its columnists. But it's notable to date, there's been no Democratic lawmakers that have publicly asked for the president to step down, although we just heard from Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin earlier on MSNBC, who admitted there are discussions taking place. Obviously, there was a big problem with Joe Biden's debate performance. And there's also just a tremendous reservoir of affection and love for Joe Biden in our party. And so this makes it a difficult situation for everybody. But there are very honest and serious and rigorous conversations taking place at every level of our party. Other Democrats took the Sunday show to offer their full support. That, that whole abandoned Biden thing. That's the, that's the dumbest I've ever heard. I mean, if, if you are more inclined to vote for a Democrat or be a Democrat, if you're willing to walk away from Joe Biden, you're by defecting, helping Trump. I think he's the only Democrat who can beat Donald Trump. And let me tell you, we had the single best day of grassroots fundraising after the debate. The moment that we're in right now is a comeback moment. And it's going to require all of us to lean in now. After the debate and a rally in North Carolina, President Biden and the first lady attended fundraisers in the Hamptons, the wealthy enclave on Long Island. Anthony Scaramucci claims Biden used a teleprompter to speak to supporters. The Biden campaign says it has raised over $33 million since the debate. On Fox News Sunday, Senator JD Vance offered his assessment of the first debate. We have two candidates, one who can't do the job, one who has failed to do the job, and that's Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who both could do the job but has already done it successfully. We have a remarkable choice here for the American people and I'm so glad that I'm on the side of the guy who actually has done the job well and showed the debate he could do it again. And as you mentioned, John, President Biden is huddling with his family and Camp David. The White House insists this is pre planned and not a group discussion about his future. But just real quick, John, moments ago, we have just received word that all U.S. military bases in Europe are on heightened alert. A DoD official telling Fox News, I'm just going to quote here, John, there is credible Intel pointing to an attack against US bases in Europe over the next week or so. Also told that these U.S. military bases have increased their threat posture to something called force protection, Charlie, which in Pentagon Argo means there is credible intelligence indicating that a terrorist attack could be imminent against any U.S. military bases or personnel jumps is terrorist. The threat is for US bases in Europe, John. Yeah. Let's hope there is no successful attack of that kind. Lucas Tomlinson at the White House. Lucas, thank you.
