We’re so used to the ever-shifting calendar and slow release weeks that the deluge of movies and television this weekend almost feels weird — welcome, to be sure! — but weird and overwhelming. His directorial debut, Problemista, follows Alejandro (Torres) as he juggles aspirations of being a toy designer with the fact that he’s running out of time to have his work visa renewed after being fired from his previous gig. He tries to land a job as an assistant to a temperamental art critic Elizabeth (Tilda Swinton), but that’ll prove to be more difficult than he imagined. It’s endearing and utterly entertaining. —S.S.
