The Los Angeles Lakers are actively exploring trade options this offseason, with veteran guard Landry Shamet emerging as a potential target. The Lakers are among several teams showing interest in Shamet, who could provide valuable depth and shooting ability.
"Wizards reserve guard Landry Shamet has also drawn exploratory trade interest from several teams, including the [Los Angeles] Clippers, Lakers, [Dallas] Mavericks, [Utah] Jazz, [Toronto] Raptors, and [Orlando] Magic, league sources told HoopsHype," wrote NBA insider Michael Scotto.
Shamet, a former All-Rookie guard, had a challenging season with the Washington Wizards, averaging 7.1 points per game on 43.1 percent shooting from the field and 33.8 percent from beyond the arc. Despite these numbers, his career averages of 40.8 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from three-point range highlight his potential to contribute effectively.
The Lakers are looking to bolster their roster, and Shamet's shooting skills could be a significant asset. He has played for multiple teams, including the 76ers, Clippers, Nets, Suns, and Wizards, and a trade to the Lakers would mark his sixth team in seven seasons.
