The Independent is giving readers the chance to chat directly with candidates from some of the major political parties in a special general election series of Ask Me Anything events.

In this question and answer session, our community can chat exclusively with Stella Creasy, who is hoping to retain her seat in North London.

Ms Creasy has been MP for Walthamstow since 2010 and served in the frontbench teams of Ed Miliband and Harriet Harman from 2011 to 2015.

In its latest manifesto under Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour Party promises to deliver two million more NHS appointments a year, close private education tax loopholes to improve schools and bring back the family doctor to enhance local NHS care.

It also promises to set up Great British Energy, a new publicly owned British energy company, as well as Great British Railways to improve the public transport network across the UK.
