Four venues canceled Taylor Swift concerts because of profanity concerns.

Labeled Satire (About this rating?)

On June 25, 2024, a Facebook page called America - Love It Or Leave It (ALIOLI) published a post claiming that four stadiums canceled Taylor Swift's "profanity-laced tour."

The post alleged that the "Cruel Summer" singer's "attempt to sound 'cool' has definitely backfired," and that "half of the ticket holders are children."

Continuing the claim in the comments section, the post's author added the following message:

Which four stadiums? It doesn't matter. They don't want their kids to hear any F-bombs, so they're canceling. They don't need the hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for their cities that these shows tend to produce. They just care about the kids. Because if they hear any curse words, they're sure to grow up with Satan.

Some people commenting on the post appeared to agree with the alleged decision to cancel Swift's performances, with one writing, "I'm not impressed with the changing clothes on stage. She was more wholesome when she was country. Not impressed," while someone else responded, "Why on earth does she feel the need to use profane language?? She is so misguided. Prayers for her to escape the pressures of the world and stick to her morals. She did seem like she had some at one time before she got so famous. It's sad to see these entertainers get pulled into Satan's grip."

Meanwhile, other commenters quickly dismissed the allegation, with one writing, "I don't believe this," to which another person responded, "They post this stuff but it is a lie. Taylor Swift is as audience conscious as an entertainer can get."

Indeed, this item was not a factual recounting of real-life events. It was posted by ALIOLI, a Facebook account that described its output as being "satirical" in nature, as follows:

A subsidiary of the America's Last Line of Defense network of trollery. Nothing on this page is real.

ALIOLI also labeled its Facebook page as "Satire/parody," and it said the account was run by an individual branded "Busta Troll."

While the false claim about Swift's canceled concerts did not name the location or venue of these supposed cancellations, ALIOLI posted it on June 25 while the singer was in the U.K. to perform three nights at Wembley Arena from June 21–23 as part of her international Eras Tour. Next, she planned for three concert performances in Dublin at the end of June, before continuing her summer tour dates across Europe and Canada. Swift's next concert leg of the Eras Tour in the U.S. was scheduled to begin Oct.18 in Miami.

Reports indicate Swift's most recent album, 2024's "The Tortured Poets Department," is her most profane album release yet, with a total of 57 curse words, marking an apparent 5,600% increase in profanities since her debut self-titled record release in 2006.

Snopes addressed a separate satirical claim by ALLOD in an article about the Screen Actors Guild expelling actor Robert De Niro, published June 3, 2024.
