Eagles Legend Ron Joworski Questions Jalen Hurts' Leadership
Philadelphia Eagles training camp is just a few weeks away. Sports radio is buzzing in anticipation of what is hopefully a bounce-back season for the Birds. Longtime NFL analyst and former Eagles great, Ron Joworski joined Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchi on 94 WIP-FM’s morning show to talk Eagles football.
Of course, they are going to talk about quarterback Jalen Hurts. It doesn’t matter if things are going great, or going bad, the quarterback is the first topic of conversation. Jaws expressed his disappointment in Hurts’ response to a question about coach Nick Sirianni.

"I am a great fan of Jalen Hurts and his ability, but I think one thing he's got to get better at is his leadership skills and his ability to communicate his leadership skills,” Jaws said. “I thought that was a great opportune time to say, 'Hey, we made changes in the offseason. Man, I'm excited for Nick Sirianni, It'm great to have Kellen Moore in here, we made a lot of changes. Man, I am fired up about this team!' To show excitement, to show passion... He did not come across that way. It was delivery more than what he said, anything else... I know who Jalen is, I know he is a terrific athlete and a terrific person. But as a leader of a football team, I think he needs to take it up a notch with his enthusiasm and passion for his teammates and coaching staff."
Jaws, as a former Eagle, has friends and “sources” throughout the Philadelphia franchise. He even made the statement that it "did not sense, last year, Jalen's really enjoying being the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles"?
That, in our opinion, is a weird take considering the season the Eagles had last year. Watching your team collapse from 10-1 to 11-6 isn’t fun and leads to plenty of frustration and disappointment. Who would seem happy in that scenario?
I want my quarterback to be angry, disappointed, and upset during the hard times. It means he cares. He’s a passionate player who just wants to win. Losing is frustrating, especially for someone who only lost five games total at the college level.
At the end of the day, all of his teammates love and defend the guy so it doesn’t matter what anyone on the outside says, even if it is Jaws.
