Kemi Badenoch: 'I will not shut up, no matter how many Doctor Whos tell me to'
And I know that you probably heard lots of OK sounding policies this morning, but look closely at what is in their manifesto. I have, and you really should be worried. Their vision of the future economy is one that micromanages your businesses to meet their political objectives. And that includes my favorite topic, of course, the divisive agenda of identity politics. And I'm never going to shut up about it, no matter how many Doctor Who's tell me. So identity politics is why Labour's biggest change is to introduce a new Race Equality Act. In their manifesto, they say that they will enshrine in law the full right to equal pay for ethnic minorities. But you know, and I know we already have laws that do that, so this is going to be a much more political law. I know because they've been asking me to do this throughout my time in Parliament and I've been saying no. I actually think it's quite ridiculous when Keir Starmer says I want to take the toxicity out of his debate. One of his Labour MPs, Dawn Butler, actually said I agree with David Tennant when he said he wished that I did not exist. Who was bringing the toxicity? It is them and it needs to stop. And I think that it is my job, not just as Minister for Women Inequalities but also as a female MP to make sure that we do not allow people to silence us or make us feel afraid when we are doing what people are voting for us to do. In government or in Parliament?
