Despite the tight-lipped secrecy surrounding the final episode's plot, one sharp fan spotted an update on a Vera Facebook group. Queries flew in with one asking: "Are they still filming? " while another confirmed: "Yes."

In other discussions, devotees of the show clamoured for the return of a character who was replaced in the most recent series broadcast earlier this year.

Chatting about their top picks, one enthusiast remarked: "Jac, I would have loved to have seen more of her, I wish she would come back."

Echoing the sentiment, another chimed in: "Yes, I was gutted when she left", reports the Express.
