The View's Joy Behar, 81, admits she wants to 'get it on with a LADY' when she is in her 90s - as she accuses cohost Sara Haines of being a 'closet lipstick lesbian'

The View host Joy Behar did not hold back on Thursday's show when fellow comedian Sandra Bernhard randomly asked her if she's ever 'gotten it on with a lady.'

Sandra, 69, who was shut down during a recent appearance on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast after accusing conservatives of spreading antisemitism, was live in the ABC studio alongside Judy Gold when she decided to ask Joy, 81, outright about her sexuality.

'Here's a question, have you ever gotten it on with a lady?' Sandra asked bluntly, as Joy - who recently branded The View panel as 'horny' - fired back: 'No, but someday I will,' which led Sandra to advise: 'You better hurry up, Joy!'

The redheaded comedian then added: 'I'll do it in my 90s!' as her cohost Whoopi Goldberg chimed in and mocked: 'It might not be a lady!'

Moments later, mother-of-one Joy accused her fellow panelist, Sara Haines, of being a secret 'lesbian,' when the married mother-of-three revealed that she has visited the Manhattan lesbian bar called Cubbyhole.

Judy, 61, was stunned by Sara's admission and blurted out: 'You have? I didn't see you there!' as Joy then joked: 'She's a closet lipstick lesbian!'

Grinning from ear-to-ear, Sara, 46, added: 'I went to Smith College, I played on a gay volleyball league...' as Whoopi butted in and said: 'She's gay adjacent!' which Sara agreed with before quickly adding: 'Or not adjacent!'

Gay comedians Sandra and Judy were on The View to promote their new documentary entitled Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution, and Sandra was keen to explain why it was so important for them to make it.

She explained: 'Because we're at a tipping point culturally and we've got to remind people of how beautiful and incredible all performers are, especially gay performers because we are the soul of entertainment.'

Judy then added: 'And we're the truth tellers. And it wasn't always easy to tell the truth because there was a lot, a lot of pushback and I also believe our young LGBTQ community needs to know their history, it's very important.'

'It wasn't just handed to us,' Sandra continued, before adding: 'Like you Whoopi, we were the trailblazers,' as Joy claimed: 'Well, the best comedians come out of... not discrimination, but behind the eight ball, there were Jews, then there were blacks, there were women and gays - those are the discriminated groups.'

The comedian went on to reveal that she and Judy had been friends for many years, but the latter had not 'come out yet' when they used to perform comedy together.

'No, I didn't come out onstage until 1996 when I had a child, but you knew,' Judy explained, before recalling: 'I don't know if you remember, we were sitting at the bar at Catch A Rising Star and you were like, "Judy, Larry said you're a lesbian, is that true?"'

The panel burst out laughing at Judy's impression of her as host Sunny Hostin commented: 'That's so Joy!'

Joy's comments come a few years after she faced backlash in November 2021 for telling LGBTQ people to 'just come out' to family on Thanksgiving and 'see what happens.'

The panel were discussing the dreaded politics conversations that families get into on Thanksgiving when Joy said she welcomed divisive discussions at family gatherings.

Then she suddenly said: 'I'd like to suggest everybody out there, come out to your family this Thanksgiving. Just come out! See what happens!'

Joy, who has advocated for LGBTQ rights in the past and received a GLAAD award in 2010, said she wanted people to be their genuine selves and not hide.

'Don't let anybody tell you who you have to be,' she added, but many viewers were not happy with her words and criticized her on Twitter.

One user accused the talk show host of being 'out of touch with reality' and posted: 'Don't U realize that this could be very dangerous for some people TO COME OUT...who are U to make that decision...you won't suffer the consequences...if THEY WANT TO, they decide/NOT U.'

Another Twitter user wrote: 'I couldn't tell if she was encouraging people or threatening them,' and another added sarcastically: 'Oh phew. Now that I have Joy's blessing, I think I'm ready to come out.'
