Child development specialists found that the time an infant's parents spends on their cell phone can have a negative impact on their speech input. The researchers say it's not realistic or necessary to expect parents to eliminate phone use during childcare entirely, but they advise parents to be mindful of how much engaging with their phones impacts the ability to engage with their children.
