Hulk Hogan believes he'd make a 'great' Vice President to get the US 'back on track'... but is WWE legend backing Donald Trump or Joe Biden?

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan is convinced he has what it takes to fix America's problems after throwing his hat in the ring to take over as Vice President.

During an appearance on NewsNation's Dan Abrams Live, Hogan, 70, discussed the upcoming Presidential election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden as the pair prepare to lock horns in a live TV debate on Thursday.

He has thrown his support behind Presidents in the past, publicly backing Barack Obama in 2008 and then Mitt Romney four years later.

And while it remains to be seen who comes out on top in the battle between Trump and Biden, the former WWE superstar insists he should be the man working alongside them as VP.

When asked if he could take up a role at the White House, Hogan said: 'Hey, you never know. Right now, I'd make a great Vice President, brother, because I do have common sense. I do know right from wrong.

'I just think a flat tax would be a fair play for everybody here. And if I was the VP, and then all of a sudden I roll right into that top spot, four years later, you get 12 good years out of me. And then all of a sudden, we would really be on track.'

Hogan has crossed paths with Trump on several occasions, with the controversial American tycoon attending a number of WWE shows in the past as an avid wrestling fan, while also playing a part in WrestleMania 23 back in 2007.

So who is he backing in this year's election?

'You know, at the end of the day, I'm just wanting somebody to straighten out the gas prices,' Hogan said. 'The food prices, our nation's security. I want peace in the Middle East.

'I just want somebody with common sense that knows right from wrong, brother. That's why I wanted to be [Vice] President.'

On Thursday night's live debate between the two candidates, Hogan added: 'Well, you know, Joe's a little laid back. Sometimes he'll have the Joe moments where he'll space out and you can basically describe America in one word, you know, and then he won't really say the word.

'But I've seen him when he was addressing Congress and stuff, the Union address where he was on point. So, it's going to be interesting, you know, I know he's taken a whole week to get ready. And Donald Trump's running around hitting all the breakfast places, and tipping everybody, so I just don't know.

'I just really hope Joe's on his game, I hope he's leaning forward, not rocking back on his heels. I hope Trump's doing the same thing. I just want the best man to win.'

Abrams then pointed out to Hogan that it sounds like he is leaning towards Trump's side of the ballot.

'Well, you know what, I'm for the guy that's gonna straighten this country out, man, whoever that person is,' he insisted.

'I mean, either Rock or Jesse Ventura, or it could be anybody at this point but I'm looking for that truth teller to come in and straighten this country out.'
