Bruce Lehrmann has been ordered to pay Network 10 $2 million to cover the massive legal bill it racked up defending his defamation action, it has been revealed.
During court proceedings on Thursday, it also emerged that Ten had struck a deal with its former star Lisa Wilkinson, who engaged her own legal representation. It will pay $500,000 towards her legal costs.
Wilkinson engaged her own lawyers to represent her in the blockbuster legal action initiated by Lehrmann — which he ended up losing — and had initially asked Ten for $1.8 million to reimburse her legal fees.
Lawyers on behalf of all those involved in the defamation action appeared in Sydney’s Federal Court on Thursday for a case management hearing where details of legal bills were discussed.
More to come.
