Assistant Trade Minister Tim Ayres says the Albanese government’s cost of living measures target “households and businesses”.
Australia’s inflation rate rose from 3.6 per cent to 4 per cent in May.
Markets are now predicting a 67 per cent chance of a rate hike in August.
“The cost of living measures that the government has in the budget are there targeted for households and businesses,” Mr Ayers told Sky News Australia.
