A Quiet Place: Day One continues to make noise as it begins its anticipated cinematic run. The post-apocalyptic prequel film earns a franchise-best mark at the box office as it hits theaters.
Per Variety, Day One earned $6.8 million in Thursday previews on Jun. 27, the highest preview figures generated by any film in the A Quiet Place film series. The first A Quiet Place installment made $4.3 million in previews in 2018, while A Quiet Place Part II generated $4.8 million on the eve of its 2020 release.

A Quiet Place Part II, which also starred Oscar winner Cillian Murphy, made $297.4 million against a $61 million budget.
A Quiet Place: Day One Details the Start of the Invasion
Day One takes the A Quiet Place franchise back to the beginning, exploring how the alien invasion that permeated the series originated. The prequel follows Sam (Nyong'o) as she walks through New York City when she witnesses the start of the invasion, led by monstrous extraterrestrials with ultrasonic hearing. Alongside Eric (Quinn), Sam tries to find solace in a fight for survival against the haunting creatures. Day One also stars A Quiet Place Part II actor Djimon Hounsou, plus Alex Wolff and Eliane Umuhire.
