‘I gave her a hug and wished her the best’: Nota Baloyi recounts his last moments with Berita

Last week, celebrated music executive Nota Baloyi and his ex-wife Berita finalised their divorce. The news comes barely a year after reports that they were heading for divorce.

NOTA BALOYI AND BERITA DIVORCED

Despite going separate ways in 2022, news of their fallout made rounds in March 2023. However, against the news, Berita went on to confirm their divorce. She revealed that she left her marital home in January 2022.

Against the confirmation, she made it known that divorce was on the cards since they were legally married. However, during one of her interviews, she made it known that since 2022, she hasn’t been in contact with the Nota Baloyi.

Speaking to ZiMoja last year, Berita said, “I know nothing about what is happening in his life. We do not talk and have not spoken for a long time. I will not be seeing him any time soon.”

Berita added, “We were officially married. I believed he was the one for me. But it turned out I was wrong, and we are currently in the process of getting a divorce.”

Last week, controversial blogger Musa Khawula confirmed their fallout in an X post. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Khawula said, “Berita and Nota Baloyi officially part ways. Berita is finally free from the shackles of her now ex-husband Nota Baloyi as they finalised their divorce today.”

However, against his post, Nota Baloyi went on to confirm their fallout with X post, which left Mzansi divided. The celebrated music executive took a swipe at his ex-wife.

Taking to X, Nota posted, “The lesson is to make sure she leaves with nothing of yours & loses half of everything she gained… Another lesson is marry in your class. Bringing someone up out of poverty is like going to bed with a snake that is starving itself to build up the appetite to swallow you whole.”

However, Nota Baloyi is trending because of his podcast interview with DJ Sbu. The music executive was the latest guest on Hustler’s Corner. Speaking to DJ Sbu, Nota shared his last moments with Berita after finalising their divorce.

Despite his recent social media rants, Mzansi was more than convinced that Nota Baloyi looked hurt and concerned. The muso made it known that the last thing he wanted to do was not to give up on his marriage.

“For me, the one thing I did not want to do is give up. Whatever goes down, at least let’s go down fighting. I still need to prove to myself that I am as principled as I want to be, and that’s what motivated me to do that. I gave her a hug, and I wished her the best,” he said.

However, Nota Baloyi revealed that he left a lasting impression. Je has it that he wore a suit Berita had made for him and even wore the cologne that she loved.
