Chiefs' Andy Reid Still No. 1 in Head Coach Rankings?
The Kansas City Chiefs have been a beacon of consistency since Andy Reid took the wheel in 2013. In his 11 seasons, Reid has overseen 10 double-digit winning campaigns.
In addition, since Patrick Mahomes entered the fray in 2018 as the starter, the Chiefs, who were already a solid AFC team, have transformed into an NFL powerhouse.
In the last five years, the Chiefs have won three Super Bowls and have made it to the AFC Championship game in every season under Mahomes. But now, as we look ahead to the 2024 season, with what Reid has accomplished, is he the best coach in football?

In their head coach rankings, Reid sits top of the pile.
"Pairing Reid with Patrick Mahomes has been a cheat code that has led the Kansas City Chiefs to four Super Bowl appearances and three Super Bowl wins," PFF writes. "On offense, they have ranked inside the top five in EPA per play every season from 2018-2022, even predating Mahomes’ arrival. They dropped to 12th last season, but with some significant improvements at the wide receiver position, expect them to be back inside the top five again in 2024."
With Reid's offensive wizardry and Mahomes' incredible talent at the quarterback position, it is perhaps the new version of Tom Brady/Bill Belichick in the NFL and the pair show no signs of slowing down.
The Chiefs are aiming for history in 2024, looking to become the first team ever to claim three straight Lombardi Trophies, and the franchise right now looks in good shape to have a genuine shot at it.
Of course, having the best coach and player in football helps your cause and for the Chiefs, the 2024 season is a chance to really stake their claim as one of the best teams of the modern era and for Reid to make his claim for the best coach perhaps in history.
