Report: Oilers Talking With Philip Broberg About Extension
EDMONTON -- Roller coaster rides are supposed to be fun.
Edmonton Oilers defenseman Philip Broberg had a roller coaster season. Even though he started with the team and ended with the team, it was a rocky road to get back.
The time in Bakersfield was clearly good for him. He was able to step into the lineup in the Western Conference final and played excellent hockey.

He finished the playoffs with three points in 10 games and averaged 15:47 of time on ice. It's clear he earned the trust of the coaching staff.
The Hockey News has heard that discussions have begun between Broberg's representation and the Oilers.
Nothing has been made official from either party at the time of this writing. The Oilers certainly have a lot of business to take care of this offseason and a new contract for Broberg should be at the top of the list. The Hockey News will circle back on this when there are more details.
One way or another changes will be coming to the Oilers. Management will be speaking with the media tomorrow. We might receive some clarification at that time about a few things.
Buckle up Oil Country, it should be an eventful summer.
