Cristiano Ronaldo was seen booting a water bottle in frustration after being substituted in Portugal’s Euro 2024 clash against Georgia.

Ronaldo was replaced on 66 minutes by Goncalo Ramos with his side trailing 2-0 in their final Group F match.

While Portugal had already qualified for the last 16 stage of the competition as group winners, they endured a frustrating night against a spirited Georgian side who held onto secure the most famous win their footballing history.

Ronaldo, who was booked in the first-half for dissent after not being awarded a penalty, handed over the captain’s armband as he left the pitch before taking aim at a stray water bottle on the touchline.

Ronaldo, 39, has started all of his nation’s group matches but is still to score in Germany.

The Al-Nassr striker looked odds-on to score after breaking through one-on-one in their previous group match against Turkey but instead teed up former Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes for an easy tap-in.

Georgia join Portugal and Turkey in qualifying for the knockout stages of the Euros.

Willy Sagnol’s side took a shock lead inside two minutes with Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia expertly drilling home.

Georges Mikautadze doubled his side’s lead from the penalty spot just before the hour mark.

They will take on Spain in the first knockout round of the competition with that game taking place on Sunday evening after England’s clash with Slovakia.

Portugal meanwhile will take on Slovenia in the next round on Monday.
