60 Second City: Cardiff, Wales! #60secondcities #cardiff #wales #travel #cities
Let's head to Europe to take a quick visit to the capital of Wales, Cardiff. Welcome to another episode of 62nd Cities, the quick video series that takes you around the world in less than a minute. Cardiff is the capital and largest city of Wales. The city is located on the southern part of the country, on the Bristol Channel near the mouth of the Severn River. While Wales is technically its own country, it's still part of the larger United Kingdom, which represents it on the international stage. Cardiff has about 360,000 people living within the city and 1.5 million in the Cardiff Capital Region, making it the 11th largest region in the United Kingdom. Cardiff Castle, one of the city's largest tourist attractions, was originally established as a Roman Fort around the year 50. The actual castle itself was built as early as 1081, after Norman's kept invading by way of the Bristol Channel and southern Wales. A new 62nd Cities premieres every Thursday right here on Geography by Jeff. Next week city is Keeve, Ukraine.
